The history of the Southern Indiana REALTORS® Association or, "SIRA," is proud of providing 80 years of the finest state-of-the-art support services available for our Brokers and Agents!

In 1926 the Association was first established with the New Albany Board of REALTORS®     which was soon followed by the Clark County Board of REALTORS® in 1935. As the Industry began to grow, it was simply a matter of time before the two would merge and, in 1970 we formed the Southern Indiana Board of REALTORS® .

As a reflection of the scope of services and large membership, the name was changed from Board to Association in 1990. With service to Clark, Floyd, Crawford, Harrison, Scott, Washington, and many other counties in Indiana including Louisville and the surrounding areas of Kentucky participating, we became the 6th largest REALTORS® Association in Indiana.

In 1983, the Southern Indiana REALTORS® Association was the first in the area to computerize the MLS. SIRA prides itself on the efficiency of bringing new products and services to its members quickly, recognizing the importance of the constant change in technology available in the real estate industry. Our services and products are equal or exceed those of other local  REALTORS® Associations with several thousand members!
